This project involved the full design and production of a bilingual (Romanian–English) sculpture catalog showcasing the work of artist Chifu Panaite.
The goal for this project was to create a visually engaging and accessible publication that raises awareness of Chifu Panaite artistic journey.
The catalog was carefully developed to meet both artistic and print industry standards, with a clean, structured layout that highlights the depth and variety of the artist’s work.
The first step in the process was image preparation. Each photograph featured in the catalog was individually processed in Adobe Photoshop. This included color correction and chromatic adjustment to create visual consistency across pages, while maintaining the authenticity and texture of each sculpture material (stone, wood, bronze, etc.).
After retouching, all images were resized according to the print layout, ensuring they aligned perfectly with the page design.
Color mode was converted to CMYK for all elements in preparation for professional printing. This step was essential to maintain accurate color reproduction in the final printed version, avoiding unexpected color shifts.
The catalog dimensions were precisely defined: each page measures 30×23 cm after bleed trimming.
When opened, the full spread spans 60×23 cm, giving the artworks enough visual space to breathe. The catalog’s spine width is 1.50 cm, proportioned to fit 166 pages while keeping the format elegant and easy to handle.
The layout and page design were created using CorelDRAW, chosen for its flexibility in handling multi-page documents and its compatibility with print production workflows.
The structure includes a well-organized Table of Contents, guiding the reader through critical texts, thematic groupings, and materials used—ranging from atmospheric sculptures to wood, stone, bronze and projects works.
Each section is presented in both Romanian and English, making the publication accessible to a wider audience, including international galleries and collectors.
From the conceptual stage to the final layout, every decision was made to reflect the artist’s identity and give visual clarity to his sculptural language.
The result is a refined, print-ready catalog that serves as both an artistic portfolio and a professional publication.
